While positions like injection molding remained challenging to fill, Karee reveals that hiring a full-time recruiter was the game-changer. Previously, responsibilities were spread across various roles, but consolidating them under one leader significantly tackled the recruitment challenge. Collaborations with iJag, Ankeny School’s ORBIS program, and engagement with DMACC’s workforce programs have also contributed to improvements.
Recent efforts, such as inviting Ankeny Schools to the shop class to build cabinets and observe the process, highlight Kreg’s commitment to innovation and engagement with the younger workforce. Karee wraps up the episode by discussing intentional touches in facility design that reflect Kreg’s brand ethos.
