If you’re a Spotify user, you may have noticed some shows from The Iowa Podcast have mysteriously vanished from the app. Their systems are currently auto-flagging our intro music as a copyright violation, despite us providing license information and evidence we have the rights to use the music. In fact, we even received a customized version of our song directly from the artist himself. We believe in paying artists.
We have appealed 5 times to Spotify and have reached out directly to their customer service who simply ended our chat with no explanation.
In our quick research, we found it’s happening to many creators, including one person who actually wrote his own intro song!
What to do
Until this is resolved, we suggest you listen on other platforms like YouTube, via our online player through X, or via Apple Podcasts. Here are those links:
