A message from Justin Brady, host of The Iowa Podcast:
News broke today of a targeted shooting at Starts Right Here, an organization that helps kids that have challenging backgrounds. Two children have died and Will Holmes, whose stage name is Will Keeps, the organizations founder, was injured in the shooting. As of writing this, he is in surgery.
Keeps was on The Justin Brady Show previously and I wanted to air this interview on The Iowa Podcast. Please keep Will in your prayers. I will post updates here as they become available.
Will is an incredible person and has gone through some incredible adversity. His heart for our kids is incredible. Instead of a show notes link, I’ve posted the link to the donate page for Starts Right Here below. Please keep Will in your prayers and give what you can to his organization.
From the Starts Right Here website: “Starts Right Here (SRH) is a program designed to serve youth in a supportive, empowering environment. All young people deserve a chance to rise above the circumstances they were born into and to reach their mental, emotional, physical, and economic potential.”

Statement from Will Keeps’ Family – We want to thank everyone for their prayers and outpouring of support for Will and the students involved in this tragedy. Will is currently in serious, but stable condition. He has a long recovery ahead and we are deeply appreciative for the care he is receiving. Even though Will is severely injured, he is now more determined than ever to continue with his work with at-risk youth and looks forward to, once again, working hand-in-hand with other community leaders on the mission of Starts Right Here. We ask for your continued prayers for everyone involved in this tragedy.
