The Iowa Corn Growers Association is continuing to work on improving the carbon intensity (CI) score of corn ethanol to compete with lower CI scores from Brazilian ethanol. They emphasize the need for new markets for ethanol and appreciate Governor Reynolds’ support in promoting E15.

In another segment, Andy is joined by Eric Schroeder from Corteva to discuss the issue of herbicide resistance in soybeans. They address a recent case of water hemp resistance to the herbicide 2,4-D and underscore the importance of using multiple modes of action and practicing proper stewardship to preserve the effectiveness of existing herbicides. Eric also mentions Corteva’s ongoing research efforts to find new herbicides and encourages growers to use all available tools to combat resistance.

Lastly, Andy speaks with Brian Fager and Drew Clementson from the Iowa Soybean Association about seeding rate trials.
