What happens when the “soda fountain nerd” meets and falls in love with an “idea girl”? They create something awesome, or course, and that awesome thing for Tiffany and Justin Simmons is Twist Soda, a walk up “Sip Studio” located on Main Street in Bondurant Iowa.
This carbonated couple found their careers were not as fulfilling as they wanted them to be. So they left their nine to fives and almost instantly decided on opening some kind of fountain soda shop. Having lived in Utah, Tiffany was used to seeing and frequenting walk up and drive through soda shops where you could create your own concoction.

Justin, being a builder, took on making a customized fountain cart to take their drinks to local farmer’s markets and once that took off, Tiffany knew they could get a simple spot reminiscent of the family vibe that the shops in Utah provided. “We love to surprise people” says Tiffany when approached with the soda shop being a quirky idea. Unlike the typical place where you can get a pop, Tiffany is proud to say that at Twist Soda “We sell an experience…we want to inspire other people to be entrepreneurs.”
Twist’s Sip Studio has been open since the end of July 2024 and is going strong with selling Soda, water, tea, lemonade and energy drinks. With 1,000 different beverage and syrup combinations, you can get a “custom sip” every time which is what customers prefer, but you can have it any way you like and it all comes to you at a refreshing 36.2 degrees served in a styrofoam cup for flavor. “At our core” says Justin, “we are all about fun!” Join us as Tiffany, Justin and I talk all things pop on this episode!
